Welcome to the North Wales "Students Discuss Books" Club! This club was established as a forum for young readers to openly discuss various age-appropriate books in a relaxed group setting. This book club is open to anyone in Grades 5 through 8 and meets on the first and third Thursday of the month from March to November. Although participation is free, we do require pre-registration so we can provide a sufficient number of books for distribution. You can register by calling or stopping by the North Wales Library. We would like to thank our Corporate Sponsor, The Willow Grove Bank, for use of their facility at the North Wales branch and for providing financial support for this program. We sincerely appreciate this community outreach effort by the Willow Grove Bank. Further information about the bank can be found at their web-site. |

"Out of the Dust" was a poetry book about a family during the Great Depression of the 1930's. Most of the Students found the book very revealing about that period of American History. Two special guests (Ruth and Roger Wardlow) from the local area spoke to the students about their experiences during the Great Depression. |

Overall, the reaction to the book was mixed. More people liked it than disliked it. Mullet Fingers was a favorite character in the book. A special guest brought an African Gray Parrot to show the students about birds and their habits. |
