For Children

The North Wales Area Library offers fun-filled programs to encourage reading in young learners. 


Our activities teach all age groups the value and enjoyment of exploring the world
through literature. Join us for one or more of the programs below

Our ongoing children's programs include:
Baby's First Book

A gift of literacy from the
North Wales Area Library and Univest, a PA ONEBOOK every young child selection is presented to each baby born to a library patron. 


Sign up below with the name and birth date of the new baby and we will customize a bookplate for inside the cover of your baby’s book.

All ages welcome

Listen to stories, sing songs, play and color.

Toddler Tech
For ages 3 - 6 years

Every Friday from

10:00 - 11:00am

Hands on Tech time for toddlers featuring Code-a-Pillars, BizyBeez, and Magnetiles.

No registration required.

Read to the Dog
For Grades 2 - 5

Several Saturdays per month
from 10:30 - 11:30am.

Join us for a fun way to encourage reading! Children register on a first come, first read basis to read aloud to a trained therapy dog.

Baby - Toddler Morning Music


February 3

Ages 0 - 3

First Notes will be presenting Baby - Toddler Morning Music, a fun class about taking the first steps in singing, rhythm, movement, and small instruments. No registration required, learn more at or contact 610-238-0300 for more information.

Winter Animal Friends


February 7


Ages 3 - 6

Animals don't have scarves and hats to keep warm in the winter, but they do all have ways to survive the cold winter season. Children ages 3 to 6 and their favorite adult are invited to join us and the Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy to learn more about what some local animals are up to in the winter. 

Read to Petie the Therapy Dog


February 17

All Ages

Petie the Therapy Dog will be visiting the Library to listen to children read books. No registration is required, just drop in between 10am and 12pm.

Summer Reading Program

The North Wales Area Library offers various programs throughout the summer for different age groups from ages four years to twelve years to adults.
