StoryWalk at North Wales
A StoryWalk® is...
A StoryWalk® is a fun, educational activity that places a children’s story (literally a book taken apart) along a walking route in the community. Currently at the North Wales Area Library we have a StoryWalk® set up around the library, so you can walk around our gardens and around the library while reading a story. We periodically update the featured book to keep our StoryWalk® fresh and exciting. The StoryWalk® is up and ready to go, 24/7! You and your family can come to the library anytime to enjoy the StoryWalk®.
StoryWalk® was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and has developed with the help of Rachel Senechal, Kellogg-Hubbard Library.
Our Current StoryWalk® Book is...
The book we have set up is "Freight Train" by Donald Crews. This current story walk was set up in honor of Andrew C. Michie. Freight Train was chosen as the PA One Book of 2020. PA One Book is a special program that picks a new book every year that helps their goal to highlight importance of early literacy development in preschoolers ages 3 to 6.

Virtual Story Walk
Can't make it in person to walk the StoryWalk® yourself? That's okay! Enjoy this video of North Wales Area Library Director Jayne Blackledge walking our StoryWalk® and reading the book to you.
